Open Year Round
The Clark House
Inn is located in Vineyard Haven on the beautiful Island of Marthas Vineyard.
The Dutch Colonial styled home
was built in 1906 with many features that help our guests enjoy their Island stay.
The rooms, the enclosed wrap-around porch and the private brick patio with fountain,
all provide places to relax before and after the day's activities. Enjoy
high speed Internet Access in each room & complimentary bikes on a first come,
first serve basis.
In 1993, Clark House
Inn was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the former President, Bill
Clinton, for hosting some of his staff on his first vacation visit to Martha's
Vineyard; a 1996 Créme de la Créme Award from Boston Best Guide
for "Best Atmosphere" and a Hospitality Award given by the former Governor
of Massachusetts, Argeo Paul Cellucci, in April 2000.
Your
Hosts - Stephen anf Judy Perlman welcome you to join them for a complimentary, continental-plus
"breakfast party" each morning. Breakfast is served during the summer
season on the enclosed front porch or the fountain patio area. During the winter
season, breakfast is served in the dining room.
Once
you have been a guest here, you become part of our Inn family. We hope that you,
like many of our guests, return every year to the Island and the Inn.
The Island is comprised of six towns: Vineyard
Haven, Oak Bluffs, Edgartown, West Tisbury, Chilmark, Menemsha and Aquinnah (formerly
Gay Head). The ferry comes into Vineyard Haven year round and seasonally into
Oak Bluffs.
The Clark House is owned and operated by Steve Perlman, a retired academic and business man. As the son of an academic, Steve grew up spending his summers on the Vineyard. Since that time, the Island has remained a constant "home" in his life. Martha's Vineyard was even the backdrop for his doctoral research. Steve hopes a stay at the Clark House Inn will become an integral part of your personal attachment to Martha's Vineyard.
